  • Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excelent product/service I bought two of these locks. Installation and setup was easy for both. They were initially paired with an Iris by Lowe's security system. At the same time Iris went from V1 to V2, one lock failed communication. I assumed it was the Iris system because of other issues. 8 months later, after the lock was out of warranty, I converted to SmartThings by Samsung. When I couldn't pair the second lock, I contacted Kwikset. They replaced it in warranty, even though the lock was out of warranty when I called. I am very happy with the replacement.

When the security company messed the original ones up, kwikset replaced mine under warranty no questions asked. Best customer service I’ve ever seen!! New ones went in fine because I installed them and didn’t let the security company try.

I called kwikset to trouble-shoot and was told that i would have a new lock sent to me to resolve the issue. Great customer service! I would buy Kwikset locks again because they take care of the customer.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible Deadbolt Purchase our first one 2.5 years ago and second 1 year ago. These electronic deadbolts are wonderful for a household with kids and dogs. Just punch your code in and you are inside without digging around for keys with your hands full, dogs underfoot or kids coming home from school. Can't stop raving about them with our friends and visitors.

I have had them for five years. They have performed magnificently. And my ability to unlock and relock remotely with my cellphone is terrific! I installed them all myself. And have now installed for neighbors who liked mine.

    My Smartcode lock (910 TRL ZW 11P SMT CP) has become very difficult to turn the key partway through & if was traditional (i.e., not smart/using batteries) deadbolt, I'd use a little WD-40, but would that be harmful to this kind?

    How do I switch from a left opening door to a right opening? It appears they are directional?

    Can this lock notify me if a certain code is used? (IE a code for the plumber?)

If you do not have a dealer you would need to purchase a Z-Wave home automation system (GE Security, Honeywell, 2Gig, DMP, ELK, Home Seer, HAI or Vera) and the Smart Code with Z-Wave from a home automation or home security dealer. SmartCode z-wave door locks are not connected via internet and are not Wi-Fi enabled devices. SmartCode locks are equipped with Z-wave technology. In order for a z-wave device to work, they need to be paired to a z-wave controller. The controller is the main gateway to control all your z-wave devices that are enrolled to the wireless mesh. Some controllers work off your existing router via an Ethernet cable while others work through GSM radio (like cellular phones).     I have the 910 Touchpad with Home Connect & Samsung SmartThings Hub. I connected it about 6 mo ago & it worked. Now my SmartThings app only recognizes the lock's status (locked/unlocked) but can't lock or unlock remotely. Has new batteries. Ideas?

    When I ask my echo to unlock the 910 lock it says that this feature is not available. Am I doing something wrong or will this become available in future update?

    That is actually a safety feature so that someone not authorized can not yell through the door or window to unlock it. Your Echo will lock the door but not unlock it for your safety.

    We want to be able to change the code remotely using wifi for renters, but it's not clear if this unit can do this from the instruction manual. Can anyone provide clarification?
