I installed one in my daughter's home and it performed so well that I now have 3 installed in my own home. I recommend it to anyone who needs a secure dead bolt that can be programed for multiply users with different codes as well as a once access for someone who does not need regular access. ALL IN ALL IT IS A GREAT LOCK

Telephone help is definitely non-existing. Couldn't get thru and did not return calls. Had no trouble getting replacement on a 15 year old lock!

  • I have a powerbolt 2. It is about 6 months old. Last week it stopped locking & unlocking the deadbolt. The deadbolt functions manually, but just beeps twice when UC's or the LB are used. I have tried resetting the lock, but only changing the MC functions.

    There’s no torque blade Included with exterior assembly of this Power bolt 2. Do I have to exchange the entire lock or can Kwikset send a torque blade? Very annoyed.

    How do you change the batteries?

    Hello bmullenix, Please follow the general steps below to remove and replace your batteries depending on the model. How to remove the cover – 1. Remove the three screws to the left right and bottom of the lock using either a Phillips head screwdriver or a 3/32 Allen Wrench if the installer had used the tamper-proof screws. 2. If there are no screws present, please just remove top portion by grabbing the cover from the sides and lifting up before pulling the cover off. How to remove/install batteries- 1. Remove the three screws to the left right and bottom of the lock using either a Phillips head screwdriver or a 3/32 Allen Wrench if the installer had used the tamper-proof screws. If there are no screws present, proceed to step 2. 2. Remove the full battery cover (this may include the finished thumb turn portion) to gain access to the battery holder. 3. Remove the battery holder from the lock. This piece will have the word “Door” written on it with an arrow on either side pointing at the door. 4. Replace the batteries with 4 good quality Alkaline AA batteries. 5. Replace battery pack in the lock.     I rekeyed my lock and now all the lock will do is spin all the way around when I use the key. I have tried multiple times to reset even with other keys but I have had no luck at all.

The key cylinder must be removed and can be taken to any home improvement store along with the Kwikset key you would like to use in the lock. The lock department will have a reset cradle that they can put the cylinder and the key into the cradle and reset the lock to the key.
