Each year, Builder, the leading authority in the residential construction industry who serves as the magazine of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), conducts the Builder Brand Use Study. The 2020 survey, sponsored by Hanley Wood and conducted by The Farnsworth Group, a leading industry market research firm, surveyed more than 1,000 professional builders, contractors and industry professionals. By looking at respondents’ brand use practices and perspectives, Builder determined the products they recognize, use, and trust, as well as their willingness to try new products.
The survey found that product performance and desirable features are top priorities in product selection decisions, followed by warranty, availability, price and ease of installation.
As part of the process, four categories are studied and considered, including Brand Familiarity, Brands Used the Most in the past Two Years, Brands Used the Most and Quality Ratings.
