What is new with SmartKey?

Kwikset is committed to delivering unmatched security features to homeowners and puts the safety of our customers above all else. Kwikset continuously improves the security features in its products to meet or exceed industry standards. In addition, we regularly consult with the nation’s best security experts and locksmiths to refine and enhance our products. With this stated, the latest version of SmartKey includes new propriety security features that enhance protection against uncommon and sophisticated forced entry techniques.

Is this version of SmartKey more secure?

Kwikset is committed to protecting homeowners and delivering new proprietary security features with our locks. In turn, we have increased the resistance to uncommon forced entry methods on the lock. All SmartKey products, since its introduction in 2008, include patented technology not found in other pin & tumbler locks that help protect against two of the more common and undetectable entry methods, lock picking and lock bumping.

Will there be a price increase on products due to the new SmartKey?

There will not be a price increase on products with the new, advanced SmartKey Security. We continually innovate new security features for our customers as part of our overall commitment to delivering quality residential locks to homeowners.

What other products will have the new SmartKey?

Kevo 2nd Gen will be the first smart lock with the new, advanced SmartKey security. It will also be available in Kwikset Premis and will be rolled out in many other Kwikset products throughout 2016.
