Authority in Residential Door Hardware Brings Families Innovative Security Solutions and Resources to 250 Events Across the Country
LAKE FOREST, Calif. – March 9, 2012 – Kwikset begins its 2012 cross-country Smart Security Tour in Newport Beach, California at the 2012 Toshiba Classic professional golf tournament. Two Kwikset trailers will make a total of 250 stops this year to educate homeowners and families on how to keep their homes and loved ones safe with simple security tips and leading lock innovation.
Event visitors will have one of two unique experiences at the trailers. One trailer will showcase the No. 9 Kwikset Ford Fusion show car and the other will include a Kwikset branded golf cart. Guests at both trailers can enter to win a Kwikset branded golf cart, valued at over $12,000. The winner will be announced in December, at the conclusion of the tour. Additionally, the updated mobile showrooms feature a Juxt Interactive touch screen, allowing visitors the opportunity to engage with Kwikset’s wide-range of innovative security options through iPad-esque interactions, including pinch, swipe, and zoom.
In 2011, the Kwikset Smart Security Tour brought safety education to over 71,000 homeowners and professionals across the country. In 2012, Kwikset will broaden its impact on communities nationwide. From March to October 2012, the mobile security tour stops will offer opportunities for unique engagement and activities, including scheduled visits to home improvement retailers, car races, Professional Bull Riders events and the Toshiba Classic. Both trailers will feature Kwikset’s SmartKey® Re-key Technology, SmartCode™ Electronic Locks, Key Control Deadbolt as well as showcase the latest products.
“Bringing simple security solutions to neighborhoods across the country empowers homeowners and professionals to make smarter choices in home security,” said Tracy Haugh, Sr. Brand Manager, Kwikset “By adding the Juxt Interactive touch screen to the mobile showroom, we are personalizing the user experience, and giving visitors the opportunity to learn about security in a memorable way.”
To further demonstrate its commitment to home security, Kwikset continues its partnership with the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC), home of McGruff the Crime Dog®, to provide crime prevention tips and information at events throughout the tour. NCPC will also assist in organizing its membership, community organizations, and local authorities to speak on the importance of security in their respective cities.
