KWIKSET® PARTNERS WITH NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF TOWN WATCH
TO SUPPORT CRIME PREVENTION EVENTS
Kwikset to Educate Consumers on Safety and Security
Through Presence at National Night Out Events and Sponsorship


LAKE FOREST, Calif. (July 31, 2014) – Kwikset (NYSE:SPB) partners with National Association of Town Watch to support National Night Out, the organization’s yearlong community building campaign. Kwikset’s involvement will help to educate consumers on safety and promote home security. 

Through local events, National Night Out aims to heighten crime prevention awareness, generate support for and participation in local anti-crime programs, and strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships. National Night Out events will occur nationwide on Aug. 5, 2014.

Kwikset will have a physical presence at events throughout the country, including Ardmore, Pa., Orange County, Calif., New York, Atlanta, San Diego and Chicago. Brand ambassadors will be on-site offering security tips for ensuring home safety and advice on selecting the correct door locks and hardware for the home at all events. The Kwikset mobile showroom along with Richard Childress Racing’s (RCR) No. 31 Kwikset Chevrolet show car will be at the Ardmore, Pa. event to help celebrate the 31st anniversary of National Night Out.

“National Night Out encourages face-to-face interaction among neighbors who might not have met otherwise,” said Marty Hoffmann, vice president of marketing, Kwikset. “Knowing your neighbors, being educated on proper home security measures and using the correct door locks are critical to ensuring the safety of your family and the security of your home.”

National Night Out 2013 involved more than 37.8 million participants across 16,242 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canada and military bases worldwide. Matt Peskin, National Night Out executive director, expects the 2014 event to be the largest in National Night Out history.
